Change of Scenery

Not sure if you cool kids read the most recent update on our TRSD fan page, however we are revamping our concept and perspective to include more fun, fashiony, frilly things for you to share and indulge! Not to fear, however, our "Red Sole"s will still play a heavy role in our everyday life/posts/universe. At the end of the day, we just needed some fresh air and a change of scenery. We're taking our "Red Sole" to a whole other level - let's get personal.

Welcome to my hood.

(Sunglasses: Ray Ban; Leather jacket: What Comes Around Goes Around; Sweater: Forever 21; Jeans: J.Crew; Shoes: Sam  Edelman; Bag: vintage Louis Vuitton)

It was a Sunday afternoon, my Louboutins wouldn't have been appropriate to wear during my adventures to brunch and such. So be it. Keeping it chashic is key ;)

Christian Louboutin for Cinderella. That Bitch.

"That...bitch."

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! You heard this right, Christian Louboutin will be making his very own "Cinderella" glass slipper!!!! Honestly, I don't know what's more exciting: Christian Louboutin making more Lucite-inspired designs for this upcoming season or Christian Louboutin making a Cinderella glass slipper. Or both? We choose both. We can't choose just one. We just, can't.

WWD reported this amazement earlier today, including detail to when the revealing of these shoes will be brought to life: Summer 2012. In celebration of the 1950's film release to DVD this Fall, Mr. Louboutin was inspired to create his very own glass slipper. Literally, I'm so excited, I could be half crying now about this. Not really...kind of...

Aqua + White

If you're upset with our weatherman for allowing us to think that Spring/Summer was indeed here in the graceland of New York City, then let me say that everyone agrees with you. This past weekend was gorgeous, giving us fashionistas and fashionistos alike permission to dig through our closets and pull out some key pieces from our Summer wardrobe. Before getting dressed to attend a favorite city spot, The Frying Pan, I tried on one of my classic electric blue dresses from Banana Republic and paired it with a white sweater and bright orange Louboutin "Belle Zeppa Wedge Booties". The outfit was actually adorable, but seemed too forced for a day on a boat. Relax, AK, let's just try jeans and a white top. However, it got me thinking what I feel my go-to color-scheme for the warmer months may be...

(Bag: Chanel; Shoes: "Lady Peep 150mm Patent Leather Pumps" in Aqua - Christian Louboutin)

One of my favorite color combinations is a crisp pop of white with a beautiful hue of aqua; it exudes freshness, happiness, and cuts the ribbon for the long-awaited season of Summer. Granted, today is cold and raining and all I feel like wearing is a sweatpant suit with a messy chignon sitting on my head, but we'll be optimistic and daydream about when we can wear our favorite color combo with the next few months upon us!

These "Change of the Guard" platforms by Christian Louboutin are a perfect statement shoe that add texture, color and can spice up any outfit. In terms of our color-combo, we would rock them with long, white maxi dresses and skirts, white skinny jeans, and even white trousers. To complete our ensemble, we would finish with a form-fitting blazer with a simple cami underneath to create a effortless look. Presto! Colo-combo completed!

What's YOUR favorite color-combination?

Woah, Louboutin Flippers!

Genius or straight up random? Discuss.

Here is one of the newest creations from Mr. Louboutin that I don't fully understand, but that's okay; usually his designs are not meant to have a structured path type of understanding but more of an artistic approach and production. Ya dig? Also, these make for great swim gear, as they are known as the "Snorkeling 100" booties. Nice play on words, I know. I dare you to wear them to the beach and see if they really do keep you kickin' in the water. Okay, no more. The fabric resembles that of thick wetsuit material and is adorned with a faux lifesaver sitting atop the front of the bootie. Kind of kitschy but let's get one thing straight here, they ARE in line with the season's latest trends in regards to color. Either way you put it, yellow is yellow and it's bright. If you're wondering what these may look like on with an outfit, see below for a reference...

Considering I don't have a LWD with color mix-print on the front that would go with these booties effortlessly, I'll just have to pass on these water-works kind of shoes. Or perhaps we will need to try them on in-store to really get the full effect to make a plausible decision.

If you're one of those quirky kind of kids who loves this overall idea, but want something less obvious, try for the "Rolando Hidden Platform Pump" in bright yellow to give you that same effect without the surf-in-turf motif. Easy, simple, and totes magotes cute. 'I Love You, Man' reference...anyone?....anyone?

Back to Basics

We're getting up-close and personal on some new additions we've made, as well as including our staple pieces of our wardrobe to put on display for all you folks. I have a theory about wearing white jeans, let's just put this out there. The whole you "can't wear white before Memorial Day and after Labor Day" rule is a crock of shit. White is a staple color that we wear all the time! Ever heard of the song "Yup, in my white tee"? If you haven't, you should. White jeans are a canvas - you can add anything to them, because everything goes with white, like you can add your beautiful 6-inch Louboutins to your ankle-length skinnies to create length. I did it. Add some color, get bold with it. I did that too. Go neutral, add the basics. Well, we just did about everything didn't we?! Alright, alright, let's take a look.

(Jeans: Ann Taylor; Shoes: 'Lady Peep 150mm' Christian Louboutins; Setting: My Awesome Cubicle!)

It's 10:15, time to make the donuts! (Watch: Michael Kors)

SURPRISE! We went redder! Is redder a word? I don't even know. Oh look, a jacket in camel...

I would've done full body images, but then I would've looked a little "MySpace"y. So I refrained. I find myself wearing these hues a lot, whether it be in the winter, spring, summer, or fall! Remember, basics are best, unless you are sporting this season's latest trends of neon, bold prints, and pastels, but even so we can all find the "basic" within those trends, thus making them wearable again and again. That was a long run-on sentence, apologies.

Stiletto Pain

I'm sure by now, if you haven't read or watched the news, that you know of this kind of ridiculous story how a San Franciscan woman got into a physical altercation with a man over her Christian Louboutins. Literally, a heel to the face. Needless to say, he's pressing charges.

But no, we won't dwell on the past and relive the story so let's move forward to the present. Let's discuss the ultimate theme of stilettos - pain for pleasure. (but in case you don't know this story, here's the link)

Whether you agree or not, women will pay bank for absurd things that others may find unimportant. In this case, incredibly high stilettos are a product and staple of society that are made to increase confidence, sex appeal, and power. So the question here is, what happens when those heel heights are just too damn high? Does it mean that when I fall, trip, roll my ankle, etc on the city streets of New York, that my ego also takes a hit? I'll say yes, for a hot minute. And then I'll brush off the embarrassment and say to myself 'I really don't care if I look drunk right now because I can't walk in my 5-inch heels and it's 8am on a Monday morning, these are Christian Louboutins and I will wear them ALL DAY!

For all the Louboutin-lover ballerinas in the world, rejoice! Christian Louboutin created these customized point-toe Loubies for the English National Ballet. You CAN wear designer shoes and exercise your arabesques, jetes, and pirouettes! Just don't exercise these down the street and/or after consuming a martini, that would be shoeicide.

FACT: Pain and pleasure go hand-in-hand.

When Couples Match

Don't you just love 'em? Jay n' B have graced the TRSD bloggy blog before and coincidentally it had to do with wearing Louboutins on the b-ball court - I guess we're back at it again with this one.

Yesterday at the Knicks game at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the dynamic duo sat court-side (of course) with what looked to be a matching hue of electric orange displayed on his kicks and her "Unbout Illusion" CL strappy pumps. We are loving the bright orange shoe with the leopard pant look, both unexpected trends in collaboration together. It works, we love it.

So, whaddya think? Not too shabby for our first time doing an editorial shoot! There were some major superstars that I'd like to give credit to; they deserve to be recognized as they were the glue to this project. Thank you to Debra Somerville as the mastermind with the camera, Alexandra Heitz of DashingA, for her expertise in styling, Robin Singer for providing the amazing wardrobe from Suzi Creamcheese, Tamara Gudz for applying wonderful make-up, and our model Dominika Ortonowski for allowing us to dress her up so she can work it.

'Merica

(Top: Brandy & Melville; Jeans: JCrew; Shoes: 'Pigalle Glitter Pumps' Christian Louboutin)

Blurry? So be it. I like it a little mysterious. Check out my awesome American flag crop top, which isn't too cropped but it's meant to be one. I'm representing my birthday in full effect, and if you don't understand that then you're not a true 'Merican. Thank you DashingA for this bomb pickcha. I also feel my jeans are too stretched here, but what gives?

Until my next opportunity to wear highlighter jeans without over-killing the trend...

Chashic

Eh, I got lazy and didn't make the images hi-res. Sorry I'm not sorry. Anyway, today I got simply creative (simple + creative) with my outfit. I'm entirely made of muted tones except for my bebe booties. Considering my iPhone told me that today would be 61 degrees in the greatest city of the world, New York, I took that number and imprinted it in my head that, yes, I need to dress for (casually chic) success! Why? Why not!

Let's discuss what is what here: Dress (JCrew); Sweater (BCBG); Trench (Kenneth Cole); Shoes ("Belle Zeppa Suede Wedge Booties" - Christian Louboutin); Bag (Chanel).

Everything is easy baby, leave it up to Weezy baby.

Being Blunt on Emily Blunt

Ever since the ever-so comedic and quite non-fictional portrayal (to an extent) of the Fashion industry, film, Devil Wears Prada, I've loved Emily Blunt. Not only because she was a supporting actress, of course, but she's quick as a whip and downright a classy broad. Also, everyone loves an accent.

At the European premiere of the film Salmon Fishing in the Yemen in London earlier this week, Ms. Blunt walked the red carpet in her RTW 2012 Fall collection for Carolina Herrera navy and black striped dress with net and bead detailing, Christian Louboutin black peep-toe pumps and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Since we're being blunt on this ensemble, we'll go right out and say that yes, we love the dress and its' adornments however we are not too sure we love it on HER.

Let's see the dress from a different angle, perhaps different perspective, on the runway. What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Whateva.

Strappy vs. Bold: A Personal Endeavor at Bergdorf Goodman

Last night I had the best night of life, well one of them at least. If you put me in a room full of shoes, that's amazing. Put me in a room full of Christian Louboutin glory at my disposal, well that's just nuts. So here we are, trying on, taking off, deciding, sighing, deciding, and some more sighing. The salesman at Bergdorf's was more than helpful, and actually a pleasant to discuss the pro's and con's of each shoe with. He's already picking out my next pair for when I return...awesome? You betcha.

A little "Deocupata Strappy Boot" action

And then there were two...the "Unbout Illusion Pump" or the "Belle Zeppa Suede Wedge Boot"

Then it happened. Eureka! A decision! Finally after the huffing and puffing (in which I'm not referring to drugs here, people) I felt right about purchasing a pair that to me, felt like a natural fit.

The winner was the "Belle Zeppa Suede Wedge Boot." Of course, no brainer, right? Well they won the battle thru try-on and take-off. Well done, Belle.

Q&A of the Day: How Can I Spot a Fake Louboutin?

The question of all questions I suppose.

My dear friend, Bigi, wrote me this morning inquiring about a specific website that was selling Louboutins for as little as $105, but only for this one very special day. Immediately, I put my red guard up and blatantly said to her "I don't believe this is legit..." reason being Louboutin works very hard to keep a luxury standard..luxury! Also I've never seen a real pair of Louboutins being sold than less than a couple hundred buck-o-roos.

I also advised that she research a little more into this company that was selling these ever-so-under-priced- Loubies, but she took it one step further and contacted the Louboutin offices directly! The response was almost immediate, and extremely helpful.

Here's the actual response from their offices, and something to take note of when shopping online for high-end designer pieces, such as Christian Louboutin:

"Thank you for contacting us at Christian Louboutin and we appreciate your enquiry.

I would like to confirm that the website you were looking at is NOT an authentic Christian Louboutin website.
Please note that there are many sites out there that are promoting Christian Louboutin at a "Discount" rate, but in reality they are counterfeit websites that are selling fake Louboutin products. Our shoes are made by hand in France, Italy and Spain whereas the shoes on those counterfeit websites are made in Asia and elsewhere.
To view a complete listing of authorized retailers, please visit the store locator of our website:http://us.christianlouboutin.com/storelocator/
Our lawyers are working very hard to combat this problem. Please follow this link: http://www.stopfakechristianlouboutin.com/  to see all that we are doing to stop these fraudulent sites.
If you have any other questions about authenticity or anything else, please do not hesitate to ask."

There are many ways to purchase your future pair of Louboutins without totally breaking the bank, but research is required! Here are some points to keep aware of when shopping around:
  1. Make sure the website is certified for it's authenticity of selling designer goods.
  2. Compare the proposed price points on the website to that of high-end retailers who sell Louboutin (i.e. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman). *NOTE* If the "Original Price" of the shoe on the high-end luxury website does not match or have a comparable selling point to the "Original Price" of the discounted website, this will usually be a clue the shoe is ultimately fake!
  3. Contact the discounted website and ask where they make their luxury goods - or if you can't get a response, do some digging on your own about the company.
  4. Reach out to the designer label! Who says you can't ask questions? Use the "Contact Us" on the website and get some answers.
  5. Just remember that if you think it's too good to be true, that means it probably is too good to be true.

Hope these tips help! Happy shopping :)

Wild One.

Oh Monday, we meet again. On the menu for this morning's mid-morning breakfast is snake..skin. Ew, I know, sounds gross in terms of a menu item but whatever. Let's dive into the snake pit and dish, shall we? Okay.

We've been seeing a lot of prints, patterns, and particularly pops of pretty colors for the upcoming season! Not to mention the heavy saturation of safari prints, which are usually an Autumn season inspiration, are taking charge and stampeding into our closets with ferocity. For example, take the snakeskin print. Forever growing and developing into new and unsuspecting ways, the pattern can be utilized greatly whether it be on shoes, bags, jackets, pants, etc. But what about introducing color to the classic beige/black combo? Well, your ultimate dreams and prayers have been answered - it's been introduced in the eyes and hands of Louboutin. Wah!

What is great about a snakeskin print, colorful or natural, is that it's a staple print in terms of the fashion world. The overall theme of a snakeskin print can really be paired with anything. Another for instance, today I am pairing my snakeskin pumps with white pants and a chambray button-down top (with my hair on top of my head). Boom, chic in a matter of 5 minutes!

On to more examples of this snakeskin scenario...

Grab a pair of these sassy snakeskin pumps and be a trending lady for the Spring and Summer season! What's your favorite color-combo?
